Board of Directors

The Board of Directors consists of four ordinary members and also includes employee representatives; two members and two deputies.

The Board of Directors is responsible for Kappahl's organisation and administration of its affairs. Board members are appointed by the Annual General Meeting for the period until the next Annual General Meeting. 

Thomas Gustafsson 

Chairman of the Board

Born 1965. Thomas Gustafsson has been a member of the Board of Kappahl since 2017 and a chairman of the Board since 2019. Thomas is a member of the Board and active in the Mellby Gård AB Group and was previously President and CEO of Duni and 2E Group AB. Thomas has previously held senior positions in Spendrups Bryggeri AB, Brämhults Juice AB and Eckes Granini GmbH. Thomas is a member of the Board of Smart Eyes International AB and a qualified market economist. He holds an MBA in market economy.

Thomas Gustafsson is dependent in relation to major shareholders in Kappahl as defined by the Swedish code of corporate governance.

Sven Knutsson

Member of the Board

Born 1969. Sven Knutsson has been a member of the Board of Kappahl since 2019. He is CEO of Mellby Gård Innovation och Tillväxt AB, a division with-in Mellby Gård. Sven has previous experience from various industries such as Thule, Cardo and Alfa Laval and as CFO of Boxon. He is chairman of the Board at Klarahill AB, member of the Board at Chevalier AB, Söderberg & Haak Maskin AB and OJ Holding AB (Oscar Jacobson). Sven holds an MBA in economics.

Sven Knutsson is independent in relation to the company and company management, but not in relation to major shareholders in Kappahl.

Göran Bille

Member of the Board

Born 1955. Göran Bille has been a member of the Board of Kappahl since December 2016. He was Acting President and Chief Executive Officer June to December 2018. Göran was previously CEO and Group CEO of Gina Tricot and Lindex, as well as earlier a member of the senior management of H&M. Göran is a member of the Board of Gunnebo and a Graduate in Economics and Business Administration.

Göran Bille is dependent in relation to Kappahl and its management and independent in relation to Kappahl’s major shareholders, as defined by the Swedish code of corporate governance.

Cecilia Kocken

Member of the Board

Born 1979. Cecilia Kocken has been a member of the Board of Kappahl since December 2016. Cecilia is Senior Brand and Category Director and a member of the Swedish management team at Arlafoods, Sweden. She previously worked as Marketing Director and has held several other leading positions at Procter & Gamble in the Nordic countries and globally. Cecilia is a Graduate in Economics and Business Administration.

Cecilia Kocken is independent in relation to both Kappahl and its management as well as Kappahl’s major shareholders, as defined by the Swedish code of corporate governance.

Nyamko Sabuni

Member of the Board

Born 1969. Nyamko Sabuni has been a member of the Board of Kappahl since January 2024. Nyamko Sabuni was Sweden's Minister for Integration from 2006 to 2010, Minister for Gender Equality from 2006 to 2013 and the leader of the Liberal Party between 2019 and 2022. She has also been Vice President and Head of Sustainability at the engineering and design company Afry (formerly ÅF Pöyry) and worked in the communications industry in various positions.  

Johanna Palola

Member of the Board and employee representative

Born 1977. Johanna Palola has been a board member and employee representative on the board of Kappahl since November 2017. She works as a sales representative at Kappahl. Johanna Palola has participated in a training programme for board members held by Nasdaq Stockholm.

Helena Blixt

Member of the Board and employee representative

Born 1967. Helena Blixt has been a board member and employee representative on the board of Kappahl since 2022. She works as a store manager at Kappahl. Helena Blixt has participated in a training programme for board members held by Nasdaq Stockholm

Jeaneth Ahlm

Employee representative and deputy

Born 1965. Jeaneth Ahlm is an employee representative and deputy member of Kappahl's Board of Directors since 2022. She works as a store salesperson at Kappahl.

Charlotte Larsson
